Best Wireless Speakers of 2023
1. JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth Speakers
The JBL Flip 5 wireless speaker is among the best portable Bluetooth speaker in 2023. It has an attractive cylindrical shape and it is covered by a fabric that provides IPX7 resistance to water and dust, which means that it can be submerged about one meter deep for a time of approximately thirty minutes. It is a small speaker that due to its weight, size, and protection makes it one of the best options to take on any trip or excursion. Hands down, this little guy had to be on our list of the best-sounding Bluetooth speakers of 2023.
Sound:
A small speaker that makes itself heard. The JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth speaker packs a lot of power for a portable speaker of its size. Its capacity, both indoors and outdoors, generates good results. It has a power of 20W. It does not offer very good sonic spatiality, but it does offer clarity and strength at all frequencies. Its characteristics are similar to that of the Boom 3 portable speaker, but we have noticed a better performance of this JBL portable Bluetooth speaker in terms of sound clarity and bass power. The sound details leave something to be desired when compared to other more expensive Bluetooth speakers, but if we consider its price, its performance is more than good.
Connectivity:
The JBL Flip 5 comes with the new JBL PartyBoost technology that allows you to sync it with other JBL speakers to play music simultaneously. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with JBL Connect Plus, so it cannot be connected with previous models for now, not even the JBL Charge 4. However, the company will most likely update the firmware of its other speakers shortly. It works with Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and has a good range. When testing it, we did not perceive any disconnection problem. JBL decided to eliminate the 3.5mm auxiliary input that the previous model had, something unfortunate if you want to connect devices in a wired way. On the other hand, the charging port has been updated to a USB-C type.
Drums:
The JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth speaker brings us a 4,800 mAh battery capacity. By testing using 50% of the volume capacity, we got up to 12 hours of continuous playback. When testing it using full power, however, we have noticed that it lasts for about 10 hours. It offers superb performance, comparable to the battery in the VTIN Punker.
Conclusion:
This powerful Bluetooth speaker comes with excellent deep bass and achieves clear midrange and high tones. The sonic details leave something to be desired when compared to the best Bluetooth speakers on this list, but considering its size it is very good. In addition, IPX7 protection makes it an ideal option to take it wherever we go. This mobile speaker has an excellent combination of quality and an affordable price. More than enough reasons to include it in our list of best speakers with Bluetooth connectivity 2023. Check out the best price on Amazon.
If you are on a tight budget then we recommend the JBL Flip Essential. It offers less power and a lower-performance battery but is more affordable.
2. UE Boom 3 Bluetooth Speakers
Ultimate Ears acquired a few years ago by the house Logitech, is one of the most important companies in the production of Bluetooth speakers and its Boom line enjoys a deserved fame. UE Boom 3 is the brand’s new model. This update brings useful new functionality, features a more attractive design and is available at a more affordable price than when the UE Boom 2 was launched.
Design:
The UE Boom maintains the cylindrical shape and portable size of the UE Boom 2. It offers 360-degree sound, is 18 cm tall, and weighs only 608 grams. It is available in several attractive and eye-catching colors: lagoon blue, sunset red, night black, ultraviolet, and green. The new UE Boom 3 Bluetooth speaker is IP67 certified against water and dust, which means it can be submerged for 30 minutes to a depth of one meter. It is protected by a cloth mesh made from a material used by firefighters and bikers. It is very resistant and the charging port is fully protected against water. It is an ideal portable speaker to take to the beach or the pool since it floats, although if you need a more portable model you can also check the UE Roll 2.
Sound:
The UE Boom 3 offers great sound quality for a portable Bluetooth speaker, although in this section it does not differ much from the previous model. It offers a fairly powerful sound for its size. It works with a maximum of 90 dB and integrates two 50mm transducers and four 101mm passive radiators. Sound is clear at all frequencies, and its cylindrical design allows it to output 360-degree audio with good separation and force. Like other portable speakers from this brand, the sound profile is ideal for outdoors and bass lovers. The Bass feels deep and strong but stays in check. The mid-tones don’t have the same punch as the highs, but they sound crisp and with pretty good detail. It’s not the ideal speaker for audiophiles looking for high fidelity, but it works great for playing genres like hip-hop and in outdoor gatherings. The best part is that it sounds very harsh (it can fill small and medium rooms) and does not distort. Through the app, you can also individually equalize the bass, midrange, and treble. It also offers several re-adjustments for different environments and a fully customizable equalization mode. Overall, the sound quality is very acceptable considering its price, although we consider the JBL Flip 5 to perform better.
Connectivity:
The UE Boom 3 wireless speaker integrates an on / off button on the top. It also integrates the so-called “magic button” that can be used to play, pause and change songs. Through the magic button, you can access your favorite compilations. To enjoy this you must synchronize it with the UE Boom application. Unfortunately, it only works with Apple Music if you have an iOS device or with Deezer if you have an Android. The company has already announced that it plans to add support to Spotify and other services, so it is not a very big con. From the app, you can also connect multiple UE speakers in party mode and adjust the bass and treble levels to your personal taste. One of the best features of this UE speaker is that it offers a really great range of connectivity. It works without problems 45 meters from the source (as long as there is no interference), a much higher capacity than the Boom 2.
Drums:
This UE Bluetooth speaker has a battery that provides up to 15 hours of continuous playback, although it lasts less if we use maximum volumes. To charge it, you only need to connect it to a power source through the micro-USB cable that comes in the package.
Conclusion:
The UE Boom 3 speaker features several better ones over the Boom 2 and is available for a very fair price. It’s portable, waterproof, and has an attractive design with bold colors. Delivers powerful, 360-degree sound with strong bass. It is one of the best Bluetooth speakers on the market. Check out the best price on Amazon. We also recommend you visit the comparison of the best EU speakers.
3. UE Wonderboom 2 Mini Bluetooth Speaker
In the portable speaker market, the UE Wonderboom has been prominent for a while now, but the Wonderboom 2 introduces improvements in several respects: it offers a better bass response, better battery performance, and features an outdoor mode that increases power. This portable speaker is slightly larger than a coffee cup and is also very robust. Ultimate Ears ensures that you can fall from five feet repeatedly without any risk. Not only does it have a solid body, but it also comes with IP67 certification against water and dust, which means that you can submerge it up to one meter of water for thirty minutes. The newest feature of the Wonderboom 2 Bluetooth speaker is its button to activate the Outdoor Boost. This function increases power and is ideal outdoors and in noisy environments. It also floats, which is very convenient if you want to take it to the pool. In addition to the Outdoor Boost button, it includes buttons to control the power, the Bluetooth connection, and the volume. This portable speaker comes in four different colors to suit the tastes of each user. It weighs only 420 grams and has dimensions of 10.4 x 9.5 cm. The Wonderboom 2 has a new elastic strap that allows you to hang it anywhere. The charging port is a micro-USB. We would have liked a USB-C, but it’s not a very significant con.
Sound:
The UE Wonderboom 2 mini Bluetooth speaker sounds great for its size and improves the bass response of the original model. The sound profile is warm and well-balanced. At the maximum volume level, some distortion is perceived, but below 80% the sound is very clear. The separation is not very good, but its design allows you to enjoy the audio at 360 degrees. It offers surprising power for its size, especially when activating the Outdoor Boost function. However, the Outdoor mode sacrifices some clarity and bass presence in favor of power. In general, it offers a clear and natural sound ideal for outdoor spaces.
Connectivity:
It works with Bluetooth 5.0 technology and its wireless range reaches 33 meters. The only physical connection this UE Bluetooth speaker features is a micro-USB port for charging. Unfortunately, it does not have a 3.5 mm auxiliary input. You can connect to two audio sources simultaneously and sync with other Wonderboom speakers. If you connect it with another Wonderboom 2 you get stereo sound, but if you synchronize it with the previous model you can only hear them in mono.
Drums:
Ultimate Ears claims the battery delivers up to 13 hours of continuous playtime, a three-hour improvement over the original model. When testing it, we verify that it is true, as long as a moderate volume is used. This capacity is not bad for such a compact portable speaker. The Bose SoundLink Color II, for example, performs 8 hours at medium volumes. The total charge time is 2.6 hours.
Conclusion:
The UE Wonderboom 2 has an excellent quality/price ratio and offers quite a good sound quality for such a small portable speaker. The Wonderboom 2 offers better audio and has a better battery than the original model. The sound quality leaves something to be desired at high volumes, but it’s a great option if you’re looking for a small, affordable, and waterproof Bluetooth speaker. Check out the best price on Amazon.
4. JBL Charge 4 Bluetooth Speakers
JBL Bluetooth speakers are very popular for their build quality and sound at affordable prices. The JBL Charge 4 speaker is one of the latest models launched by the brand and is no exception. Aesthetically it looks the same as the previous sound but offers a better-balanced sound. Charge 4 maintains the cylindrical shape of the previous model and the same build quality. It’s a bit bigger and heavier, also very powerful bluetooth speaker. It is IPX7 certified against water and dust, so you can submerge it up to a meter deep for 30 minutes. Build quality is excellent. It can withstand multiple drops without problems and is ideal for taking it anywhere. At the end, it presents two passive radiators, and at the top, it integrates the controls to manage the volume, playback, power, Bluetooth connection, and the JBL Connect Plus function. In the back, there are the charging ports and it also integrates small LEDs that indicate the current status of the battery.
Sound:
At first glance, the JBL Charge 4 Bluetooth speaker looks the same as the previous version. However, it does feature several improvements in the sound department. It offers bass just as strong and deep as the Charge 3, but the Charge 4 is better controlled. The bass from this wireless speaker stands out, but this is something that almost everyone who needs an outdoor Bluetooth speaker is looking for. However, the most significant difference is seen in the treble. The high frequencies of the Charge 3 left a lot to be desired, but those of the JBL Charge 4 are perceived as smooth and with good details. Midtones are also clear and maintain a good presence. Overall, the balance is very well done and the fidelity is pretty decent.
The JBL Charge 4 offers power that may be over the top for small confined spaces. It stands out in open and outdoor environments as the bass loses some intensity. It does not offer 360-degree sound, but its power and the strength of its bass allow you to hear the sound from anywhere. It is an ideal Bluetooth speaker to take to the beach or noisy environments.
Connectivity:
The JBL Charge 4 speaker works with Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and the wireless range reaches 9 meters without problems. It also has a 3.5 mm auxiliary input to connect devices in a wired way.
It integrates two charging ports (USB-C and USB-A). USB-C is used to charge the Bluetooth speaker and USB-A allows you to charge your mobile devices, such as a phone, tablet, or MP3 player. It works with the JBL Connect Plus function that allows you to synchronize up to 100 compatible JBL speakers.
Drums:
This new JBL wireless speaker integrates a 7500 mAh battery that renders 20 hours of continuous playback at moderate volumes, at maximum volume it renders approximately 13 hours. The battery has a great capacity and you can also use it to charge other mobile devices.
Conclusion:
The JBL Charge 4 offers power, sound quality, and deep bass for a fairly attractive price. The quality of construction is excellent, it is IPX7 certified and integrates an excellent performance battery. It is, without a doubt, one of the best Bluetooth speakers on the market. Check out the best price on Amazon.
5. Marshall Kilburn II
The design of the Marshall Kilburn II wireless speaker is inspired by the famous guitar amps made by Marshall, just like the Marshall Stanmore or Acton. It weighs 2.5 kg and has dimensions of 243 x 162 x 140 mm. It comes with an electric guitar-style leather handle for easy portability and features IPX2 splash protection.
The speaker includes potentiometers to adjust the bass and treble tones, a capability unique among speakers in its class. For all this, it will be difficult for his lines to go out of style in the near time horizon. Your purchase package comes with a rugged audio and power cord that allows you to connect devices wired.
Sound:
The bass tones that the Marshall produces are very powerful, and yet it does not make them protagonists, as can happen with the JBL Xtreme. The sound it emits does not emphasize any instrument and achieves a clear harmony between all musical keys. In addition, independent controls for bass and treble allow you to customize the sound to your personal taste.
It integrates two 8W amplifiers for the tweeters and one 20W for the woofer. The power is sufficient for ambiance in medium-sized rooms and works with a wide frequency response of 52 – 20000 Hz. It does not distort at any volume level and the sound is rich in all frequencies.
Connectivity:
The Kilburn portable speaker comes with Bluetooth 5.0 technology and also features a 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting devices wired. Synchronization with mobile devices is very fast since you only have to press a button dedicated to this function. It also supports aptX codec, so you can play high-resolution formats.
Drums:
The Marshall Kilburn wireless speaker has a battery capable of withstanding 20 hours of playback at medium power. It offers a very good capacity and the full charge process takes approximately two and a half hours.
Conclusion:
The Marshall Kilburn II Bluetooth speaker may seem a bit pricey, but both the design and sound are flawless (as are all Marshall speakers ). The body finishes are very fine and it also comes with a large capacity battery. The potentiometers allow us to adjust the tonalities to our personal tastes with ease and the extra range of response for which it is trained gives us a very articulate and rich sound. Hands down one of the best-sounding Bluetooth speakers. Check out the best price on Amazon.
6. Harman Onyx Studio 5
The Onyx Studio 5 is also another of the best portable Bluetooth speakers on the market. This jewel has the shape of an oval disk with dimensions of 28.4 x 29.1 x 12.8 cm and weighs 2.98 kilograms. The Onyx 5 eliminates the non-folding legs that the Onyx 4 featured, something many users disliked. Instead, it has a rubber base that ensures good stability and also integrates a new aluminum handle that makes it easier to grip.
The speaker is featured in a minimalist design in black with the Harman Kardon logo down the front. It looks more elegant and sophisticated than the previous versions. At the rear are the power input, a USB port, and auxiliary audio input. It is heavy and has no protection against water, so it is designed for use at home.
Sound:
Like the Onyx 5, it is a powerful Bluetooth speaker (50W RMS). This Bluetooth speaker produces impressive sound for its size. However, the driver settings have changed. The Onyx 4 integrated four transducers (two woofers and two tweeters) and two passive radiators. The Onyx 5 has a larger 120mm woofer and a 25mm tweeter.
The two passive radiators are no longer visible, but they are surely hidden because they offer deeper bass than the Onyx 4. In fact, this is the most significant difference from previous versions. It is ideal for bass lovers, but these do not overshadow the presence of the other frequencies.
Connectivity:
It can sync with two mobile devices simultaneously, and two Onyx 5 speakers can also be connected for a stereo effect. Unfortunately, it cannot sync with the old versions. It works with Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and has a micro-USB port for software updates, in addition to the 3.5mm auxiliary input.
Drums:
Harman Kardon assures that the 3283 mAh battery provides 8 hours of playback, but gives about 5 hours when using maximum power. If you compare it with other speakers like Marshall Kilburn, the Harman Kardon in this section has a limited capacity. However, you will most likely be using it plugged into an outlet most of the time.
Conclusion:
We think that this Bluetooth speaker is a good option to have at home since it is heavy and its battery does not pay much to use it outdoors. However, it has a balanced sound and good power. Check out the best price on Amazon.
7. Bose Portable Home Speaker
The Bose Portable Home Speaker wireless speakers are a smart upgrade from the Revolve. They are equally portable in design. They are lightweight, have a compact body, and are IPX4-certified against water and dust. Its dimensions? 191 x 119 x 103 mm. These Bluetooth speakers are covered in anodized aluminum and are available in black or silver. The silver model looks futuristic, although we prefer the minimalist black finish.
The design is elegant and sophisticated. The lower part has a grill that allows you to listen to the music in 360 degrees. At the top, it presents another smaller grid that encloses the controls. These mini Bluetooth speakers allow you to access Alexa or Google Assistant personal assistants and have good-quality buttons. With the buttons, you can control the power, the Bluetooth connection, the playback, and the volume and it also integrates one to turn off the microphone, in case you do not want to activate the personal assistant.
Sound:
These Bluetooth speakers offer very good sound quality. The sound profile is warm, pleasant, and well-balanced. We tested them by playing various genres and perceived the instruments naturally. The guitars sound faithful and gentle, while the basses stand out without overshadowing the subtle high melodies. They don’t offer the details or fidelity of the Sonos Move, but it comes close. The vowels sound incredibly good.
The bass does not sound as strong as the Sonos Move. This is to be expected since the Sonos is much larger than the Bose. In general, they offer a warm and deep sound at all frequencies.
Connectivity:
Bose Portable Bluetooth speakers are designed to be taken anywhere but are also perfect for use at home. To start using them, you just need to download the Bose Connect app that will guide you to synchronize the model with your WiFi network, choose the personal assistant of your choice and select your radio services or online music streaming. These include Spotify, Deezer, YouTube, and Amazon Music. It is also compatible with AirPlay2.
They are smart speakers compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. Unfortunately, they do not include an auxiliary audio port to connect equipment in a wired way.
Drums:
The Portable Home Speaker’s battery reaches 12 hours of playback at medium power. That capacity beats the Sonos Move, although it falls short when compared to the autonomy of larger Bluetooth speakers. On the back, it presents the USB-C charging port.
Conclusion:
The Bose Portable Home Speakers are priced somewhat high but are backed by the Bose brand to build quality and sound. Criticism puts them on a pedestal when it comes to sound performance, so they can be included among the best portable Bluetooth speaker. Find the best price on Amazon.
If you don’t need a smart speaker, we recommend the Bose Revolve. It doesn’t work with personal assistants, but it does offer good 360-degree sound for a lower price.
8. JBL Xtreme 2 Portable & Powerful Bluetooth Speaker
The JBL Xtreme 2 portable speaker maintains the same cylindrical shape as its predecessor and the same build quality. However, the new model features several improvements: improved drivers, a stronger base, JBL Connect Plus technology, and two 3d passive radiators on either side of the wireless speaker. Like the JBL Xtreme, its body is covered in rubber and features a mesh with IPX7 water protection.
The JBL Xtreme 2 speaker is slightly larger and heavier than the original model, but still a good size for a portable speaker. However, JBL includes a neck strap that allows you to carry the speaker with ease. This wireless speaker integrates buttons to control volume, playback, Bluetooth connectivity and JBL Connect Plus technology. All the elements of the body are very well assembled. It is a very resistant and versatile Bluetooth speaker.
Sound:
The JBL Xtreme 2 speaker sounds better than the original model, although the difference is better appreciated indoors than outdoors. The Xtreme 2 doesn’t seem to sound louder, but the bass response is better. Like other JBL speakers, the Xtreme 2 offers a sound profile with slightly emphasized bass. It’s great for playing hip-hop and bass-heavy music genres, but it performs decently with any type of music.
The JBL Xtreme 2 Bluetooth speaker integrates better drivers than the original model and features dual 3d passive radiators that help produce deep, rich sound. It also has a wider frequency range than the original model (55-20,000 Hz). The treble details leave something to be desired, but the sound feels fuller and more expansive. The JBL Xtreme 2 loudspeaker performs better at high volumes and distorts less. Sound quality may suffer a bit at maximum volumes, but even at 60% capacity, it produces a very loud and clean sound.
Connectivity:
The JBL Xtreme 2 speaker has Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity (the previous model had version 4.1) and integrates JBL Connect Plus technology that allows you to synchronize it with up to 100 compatible portable speakers. The JBL Xtreme 2 also features a micro-USB port, a 3.5mm auxiliary input, and two USB ports from which you can charge your mobile phones, tablets, or MP3 players.
Drums:
This JBL speaker integrates a Li-ion battery with a good capacity of 10,000 mAh. The company claims that the battery can provide up to 15 hours of continuous playback. However, we tested it at 50% capacity and it gave us more than 18 hours. The total charging process takes approximately 3.5 hours and the battery can also charge up to two mobile devices from the integrated USB ports.
Conclusion:
The JBL Xtreme 2 performs better than the original model in all respects and offers rich, powerful sound. It sounds better and harsher than the UE MegaBoom, another of the best-sounding Bluetooth speakers on the market, although the UE speaker has a better battery. Long story short, if you’re looking for a portable, powerful, and rugged speaker, you can’t go wrong with the JBL Xtreme 2. Check out the best price on Amazon.
9. Denon DSB-250BT
The Denon DSB-250BT is the largest and most powerful Bluetooth speaker in the Envaya series. It is 21 cm long and weighs 750g. It’s smaller than its direct competition, the UE Megaboom, but it can be a bit big to fit in small bags. This is why Denon also offers the Envaya Mini and Pocket models. The Mini and Pocket sound great too, but they’re smaller and more affordable.
It has a classic and understated bar-shaped design. The entire body of the Denon DSB-250BT portable speaker is black/grey and features the center logo in silver. It is protected by rubber on the sides and has a mesh throughout the body of high-quality soft material. It is IP67 certified against water and dust, which means that it can be submerged to a depth of one meter for up to 30 minutes.
Its build quality is remarkable, it looks more like a sound tower than a portable speaker. The only negative that we notice in this section is that the side buttons to control the volume, the Bluetooth connection and the power require some force to activate them, but this point is almost irrelevant. Apart from this, the design has a lot of class and good details. If you press the power button, for example, five LEDs light up momentarily on the front to indicate battery status.
Sound:
The sound that this Bluetooth speaker offers is really excellent. The stereo image is remarkable, and the sonic spatiality is the best we’ve heard of any Bluetooth speaker of this style. After testing it for a few seconds, the sound quality is obvious to anyone. The Denon Envaya DSB-250BT sounds very loud for its size and does not distort at any volume, but also offers high-fidelity sonic coherence and tonality normally associated with tower blocks or Hifi home speakers.
E l-250BT integrates Denon DSB with two active drivers of 40 mm and a passive radiator 53 x 135 mm producing a rich, full sound. The passive radiator is larger than those found in most portable speakers of this size, and this helps provide the bass with remarkable depth and power. The highs are detailed and delicate. However, the quality of the mid-tones stands out. The vowels are heard with a lot of texture and clarity. This is the ideal Bluetooth speaker for the most demanding audiophiles.
Connectivity:
The Denon DSB-250BT is a straightforward Bluetooth speaker in terms of connectivity options. It does not integrate WIFi or NFC technology, but it does come with several very useful extras. It comes with a built-in microphone that allows you to use it as a conference speaker and handle personal assistants like Siri or Google Assistant.
This portable speaker integrates a micro-USB port for charging and a 3.5 mm auxiliary input from which you can connect MP3 players, mobile phones, and other devices. It also supports the aptX low latency codec that allows you to stream high-definition audio formats via Bluetooth. You can sync two Envaya speakers for more dynamic, stereo sound.
Drums:
The Denon Envaya DSB-250BT’s built-in battery provides up to 13 hours of continuous playback at moderate volumes. This ability is not great, but it is sufficient for most people.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for a rugged, versatile and powerful Bluetooth speaker, the Denon Envaya DSB-250BT is one of the best options. This portable speaker delivers unmatched fidelity and quality sound and is one of the best wireless Bluetooth speakers on the market. Check out the best price on Amazon.
10. B&O Beoplay A1 2 Gen Best Portable Bluetooth Speaker
The second-generation BeoPlay A1 is a portable speaker with excellent construction and great sound quality. The aluminum speaker weighs just 558 grams and is dust and water-resistant with IP67 certification. This means that you can submerge it up to a meter deep for thirty minutes. The company, known for its fine materials, added a leather strap so it can be hung anywhere.
This new version is lighter than the original model and integrates larger and easier-to-use controls. Certification against water is better, but the design is basically the same. That said, it integrates a better-performance battery and supports Alexa and the aptX codec.
Sound:
In terms of sound, the Beo Play A1 2 gen integrates better performance drivers compared to the previous model. It comes equipped with a 3.5 “woofer and a 3/5” tweeter, powered by two 30-watt class D amplifiers. These generate great clarity when playing musical instruments and better clarity when emitting sound in 360 degrees.
Voices and high tones are heard solid and clear. Low frequencies are heard with good power, considering the size of the speaker. Another new feature of this version is that it supports the aptX codec which allows you to transmit high-resolution formats via Bluetooth.
Connectivity:
By testing the range of the Bluetooth connection we were able to achieve interference-free playback over a long distance. This is not surprising as it works with the new Bluetooth 5.1 technology. Obstacles such as walls can reduce capacity, but it is one of the best for a Bluetooth speaker.
The most important feature of the second generation is that it works with the personal assistant Alexa. It integrates a microphone technology that allows you to activate the assistant without problems in a range of up to 4 meters. With Amazon’s assistant, you can control the volume, your playlist, set alarms, find out the weather, and all the other smart functions that Alexa offers you.
Drums:
The second generation also has a better-performing battery. It can play 18 hours at 70dB and between 24 and 28 hours of non-stop music at 55 dB. Unbelievable capacity in such a small Bluetooth speaker. It integrates an LED light that indicates the status of the battery.
Conclusion:
The BeoPlay A1 2 gen is somewhat expensive for a portable Bluetooth speaker of its size, but the build quality and sound of this portable speaker justify it. We could get a bigger and more powerful speaker for the same price, but if we are looking for a good quality 360-degree omnidirectional sound with a good design, this speaker is a great option. If you are interested in the A1 you can take a look at the best price on Amazon.
11. Sonos Move Best Bluetooth Speakers
The Sonos Move is the company’s first Bluetooth speaker. It offers all the smart features of its most famous models but is also ideal for setting the scene for outdoor parties. It has a sober design, like the other speakers of the company. It comes in an elegant body with a metal front mesh that protects the drivers. At the top, it integrates buttons to control playback, along with four microphones. On the back are the buttons for power, Bluetooth / Wi-Fi connection, and one to synchronize it in multi-room mode.
The chassis of this Bluetooth speaker allows you to enjoy the balanced sound from any angle and it is also very resistant. Sonos claims it can withstand very hot or cold temperatures and is IP56 certified, so you can take it for a ride without worrying about water or dust. That said, it’s a big deal when compared to more portable Bluetooth speakers. It has dimensions of 240 x 160 x 126 mm and weighs 3 kg. You can lift it up easily, but you don’t want to carry it for long.
Sound:
The microphones that make up these Bluetooth speakers are also used to activate Trueplay, a unique Sonos technology. Trueplay analyzes the audio output and how it is affected by the environment. Automatically equalize the sound profile according to location so you can enjoy your music with the best possible sound quality.
It integrates two class D digital amplifiers, a tweeter for the highs and a woofer for the mid and low tones. It offers superior sound quality to almost all portable Bluetooth speakers. It has good power, and fidelity, and the different frequencies are perceived as detailed and defined. The mid-tones have a strong presence, the highs are very clear, and the lows have a punch. The vowels are noticeably clear.
Connectivity:
This is the first Sonos speaker to work with Bluetooth technology, but it also offers all the connectivity options of the other models. You can pair it with another speaker for stereo sound or in a multi-room system to play music simultaneously in various places around the house. It allows you to play music from services like Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Music or Deezer once you connect it to your WiFI network through the Sonos app. Unfortunately, aptX codec is not supported.
It works with Bluetooth 4.2 technology, WiFi and supports AirPlay 2. Built-in microphones on top allow you to access Amazon and Google assistants. You can use either of the two to control your smart devices, in addition to all the options they offer. The microphones work great, and you don’t need to raise your voice for attendees to respond, even in noisy environments.
Drums:
Sonos claims that the battery in these Bluetooth speakers will last 10 hours. The capacity goes down if you use the maximum volume, but it is quite good. The full charge process takes two and a half hours and you can charge it in two ways: through the USB-C port or using the dock that comes with the Sonos Move.
It also has a standby mode that allows you to save battery life. After thirty minutes without using it, the speaker goes into sleep and can go five days without charging. Another good news is that the battery can be replaced in the event of a breakdown. It’s designed to last three years, but this means that if it breaks, you won’t have to buy another Sonos Move.
Conclusion:
The Sonos Move is an excellent Bluetooth speaker. It’s not as portable as other speakers on this list, but its IP56 certification and build quality allow you to safely take it anywhere. Honestly, its price seems very high. However, its sound quality, all its features and connectivity options make it a good investment.
